Jammu, Mar 18 (KNO): The Jammu & Kashmir Government on Tuesday said that 928 cases are pending disposal under SRO-43.
In its reply to the cut motion of BJP MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia, the government disclosed that a total of 928 cases under SRO-43 are currently pending disposal.
Of which, 624 cases are pending at the level of administrative departments and 304 cases have been referred to the General Administration Department for grant of relaxation(s) or identification of posts, the government disclosed.
The School Education Department has the highest number of pending cases, with 345 awaiting disposal. It is followed by the Jal Shakti Department, which has 172 cases, the Home Department with 120 cases, and the Forest, Ecology, and Environment Department with 86 cases.
The Jammu and Kashmir (Compassionate Appointment) Rules, 1994, or SRO-43, Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme, 2022 were framed in 1994 to provide for compassionate appointments in Jammu & Kashmir government service. It defines who is eligible for compassionate appointment when a government employee, civilian, or military/paramilitary member dies. It describes the process for applying and making compassionate appointments depending on the status of the deceased.
The Compassionate Appointment Rules were replaced by the Jammu and Kashmir Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme unveiled by the Lieutenant Governor’s administration in 2022—(KNO)
